Choosing Disney World Hotels

Disney World hotels come in all shapes and sizes. From the low-cost value All-Star Resorts where guests stay in motel-style buildings to the upmarket flagship Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, where guests are pampered and relax in a Victorian paradise.

Whatever your taste or budget there will be Disney World hotels to suit you and your family.

Saving Money on Disney World Hotels

If you are looking for cheap Disney vacations you might be surprised to learn that you can stay in a Disney hotel and still save money. If you are a member of AAA, hold a Disney Annual Pass or a Disney VISA card, or are a member of the Military then you might qualify for a room discount. When you phone to book your Disney World hotel room be sure to tell the agent and see whether any discounts are available.

Disney vacation packages are another way to save money; by purchasing your park tickets and meals at the same time as your hotel room you will save money on your vacation.

Disney World Hotels On Monorail

There is something special about the Monorail, after all you don't get to ride one everyday. While every Walt Disney World hotel offers free transportation to the parks you can only travel by Monorail from the Grand Floridian Hotel, Polynesian Resort or the Contemporary Resort.

The Contemporary is probably the best pick for Monorail lovers as the Monorail passes right through the hotel lobby!

The Disney World hotels on monorail give you easy access to the Magic Kingdom, and with one change you can also ride all the way to Epcot. If you want to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom though you'll need to hop on a bus or take your car.

Walt Disney World Hotels In The Epcot and Hollywood Studios Area

Disney World visitors are spoilt for choice when it comes to hotels, with something to suit every taste and budget. Walt Disney World hotels are located throughout the Resort and are usually grouped around one of the theme parks. If you plan to spend most of your vacation at either of the Epcot or Hollywood Studios parks then it will probably be most convenient for you to stay in one of the hotels in the surrounding area.

Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts and Villas

These two popular resorts are similarly themed with clapboard facades and whitewashed trim. From the Yacht Club's nautical theme to the Beach Club's ocean embellishments, both resorts offer a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. These deluxe resorts provide excellent guest service and share no less than nine restaurants. Both are within walking distance of Epcot and Disney's BoardWalk and a short bus or boat ride to the other parks. The Beach Club Villas form part of the Disney World Vacation Club and provide roomier accommodations for larger parties.

Disney's BoardWalk Inn and BoardWalk Villas

Located on Crescent Lake just across from the Yacht and Beach Club resorts the BoardWalk Inn is another deluxe resort. Fashioned after an early twentieth century Atlantic coast boardwalk, this resort offers a variety of shops, bars and restaurants and even an old fashioned dance hall. If you are travelling with children they are sure to love the old-fashioned amusement-park themed swimming pool. Once again, Epcot is just a short walk away and other parks can be reached by bus or boat.

Disney Caribbean Beach Resort

This moderate, or mid-price, resort is modelled after resorts in the Caribbean and is made up of five villages which each has its own pool, beach and laundry room. The buildings are painted a cheerful blue, sherbet orange and lime green. As well as the five smaller pools there is also a central pool area, themed like an old Spanish fort with slides and water cannons. The Caribbean Beach Resort is one of the most centrally located and access to the parks is by Disney bus. Unfortunately, the food options are limited at this resort so guests should seriously consider renting a car to give them easier access to the other resort restaurants.
